The World Health Organisation defines Palliative care as:

“…an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing problems associated with life-threatening illnesses, through the prevention and relief of suffering. Palliative care focuses on the treatment of pain and other problems, integrating the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of care. Palliative care offers a support system to help patients live as actively as possible and also offers a support system to help the family cope during the patient’s illness”

For the individual, their family members, and friends, being in the final weeks of someone's life can be incredibly challenging and emotionally distressing. Palliative care focuses on reducing pain, creating a serene and dignified environment, and meeting all of the patients' medical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs.

Our Cares are trained in Palliative Care and they will guarantee that the client is comfortable and supported in the familiar surroundings of their own home. To guarantee a holistic approach, our carers will collaborate with existing healthcare teams and other professionals.
